A national outplacement firm says 2010 should be a better year for teenagers who are looking for jobs.

But after 2009, things couldn’t have gotten much worse for young people competing for jobs with unemployed adults.

Based on an analysis of federal jobless data, the outplacement firm Challenger, Gray and Christmas says unemployed workers age 55 and older were out of work an average of 35.5 weeks in March compared to 30.3 weeks for job seekers 25 to 54.
